P3dV4.1

Recommended Posts

Thanks Graham,

I'm just doing some testing here at the moment. Can you tell me what your install procedure was for v4.1 and TF?

Is this a new install of both or was TF already installed when v4.1 was installed? I just need to make sure we're on the same page.

Cheers,

Greg

complex :)

a) it was already installed and working

b) I installed several beta releases of P3dV4.1 - Still working

c) I changed an SSD as I had a Hw failure - reinstalled everything to the new drive

d) Installed Final release of P3dV4.1 - No trees

e) Redownloaded Updated Turbulent trees

f) Installed as normal - No trees

g) Checked scenery library and changed Path for Turbulent ( to correct install location )

h) No trees

Hope you follow ?

Yep, I think I understand. Essentially you've got a fresh install of v4.1 and a new install of TF on top.

Give me a short while to run some tests.

Cheers,

Greg

Hi Graham,

TerraFlora doesn't need any entry in the scenery library.

The Turbulent libraries, if you have them installed, should be above all orbx entries.

Greg

Hi Graham,

I'm experiencing a similar issue to you although it seems to occur with or without TerraFlora so there's something else gone astray I think.

Can you tell me if you have no trees at all? I notice as I move around that are occasional clusters of trees where initially it seems there are none at all. Could you have a slew around a bit and see if you get the same thing? Turn your autogen vegetaion density up to maximum first.

In the meantime I'll keep trying to get to the bottom of the problem.

EDIT: I'm also getting the same result with autogen buildings.

Cheers,

Greg

Exactly as you describe yes .. clusters ..

I have the OrBx Papua New Guinea HolgerMesh and recall previously flying over an OCEAN Of trees

It now appears to be some post war apocalyptic landscape with the occasional outcrop of Broccoli ;)

Hi Graham,

OK well after quite a bit of digging around, the only way I can overcome this issue is to re-run the 'Force Migration' option via FTX Central.

I'm working off the assumption that as you have the PNG mesh from Orbx, that you also have FTX Global or similar.

My solution is this:

1 - Open FTX Central and select your sim (give it a minute to finish checking for updates)

2 - Click on 'settings' in the bottom left

3 - In the bottom section click the 'force migration' option.

This will take a minute or two to complete. Although I'm not entirely sure, my understanding is that 'force migration' re-instates Orbx's unified landclass lookup table. It seems that what's happening for us is that it's actually the landclass not being correct but we're seeing the result as incorrect and missing autogen.

Additionally, I updated the Orbx libraries and this may also have helped.

Would you be able to give this a try and let me know how you get on?

Thanks,

Greg
